FAQs

Can behaviour really change so quickly? Does it really work?
Yes it does. Change happens in an instant. The challenge is having the right combinations of things in place for the change to happen. That’s why you can know what to change and be unable to change it (stopping smoking, losing weight, emotional outbursts etc.). For more information see the Methodology section.
Why did you agree to be an Expert Presenter on The Naked Office?
In the last 4-5 years I have been approached to contribute to or do a variety of different shows – I coached Sue Perkins to build her confidence just before the final BBC Maestro competition which she went on to win.
I had been looking for opportunities to share some amazing techniques with the public – recipes which make a substantial positive impact. Recipes that Paul McKenna, Darren Brown, Tony Robbins use. Recipes that in their own right help people achieve some spectacular things for themselves.
I also did it for me – for my career and to see if I liked being an Expert Presenter.
Does The Naked Office really help?
When we first started we had a highly successful pilot and some sound psychological reasoning. We did not know for sure if it would work – it was a social experiment.
After six episodes – yes The Naked Office really helped because it got to the heart of what makes the biggest positive impact for the business and the individuals within it. Identifying what works well and what would work better if changed. Prioritised them in order of what will make the largest positive impact. These formed the unique combination of challenges and tasks throughout the week for each company. The only challenge which was consistently the same was the Friday naked challenge. As with all extreme challenges if you do it within what works for you it builds your confidence and if you do it as part of a team it bonds that team.
The Naked Office has transformed companies and lives for the better.
Please note the companies which participated were specifically selected for the show this is not an appropriate challenge for all companies.
Surely going naked is unprofessional?
If you look at it in isolation - yes of course it is in the usual office environment. However it is important to keep it in the context of ‘company away days’ or ‘team building events’. They go through a journey in a week uniquely designed to best help the company and the individuals in the company in the time available. The physically naked part of it is only one aspect to The Naked Office.
What was the experience like for you personally?
It was incredibly challenging and equally inspiring.
It was challenging because:
- At any given time there are three clients: the company; the individuals within the company; and the production team.
- It was an incredibly intensive week: working ridiculous hours; little sleep; different cultures (the company; the media).
- I found it personally challenging because it brought up my own Blocks about nakedness. Which of course I dealt with.
It was incredibly inspiring because of the amazing people who participated. They are real people with their real lives doing fabulous things. They showed incredibly bravery to be on national TV and to share with the nation themselves and their experience. It was a privilege to work with them.
Why don't you go naked?
As a coach/facilitator it's important to have an objective perspective - to be on the outside looking in observing, analysing, evaluating and devising interventions which will have the greatest positive impact. The Naked Office experience is a uniquely devised for each company - its about them. For more information see 'Does The Naked Office really help?' above and The Naked Office section.
